  • Matt Damon takes revenge on Kimmel

    Posted by Lunchbox

If you've ever caught the on-going Jimmy Kimmel bit where he has to bump Matt Damon from his show, you will be excited for the pay-off...

This joke has been going for YEARS, and I thought the best thing we were ever going to see was the battle of songs that Kimmel, Damon, Ben Afflack, and Sarah Silverman put together...you know, the ones where they were all having relations. BUT...that wasn't the pay-off. The epic punchline came last night, when no one expected it...watch it here:

  • Another rock band breaks up...

    Posted by Lunchbox

Another week, another band break up. This time, progressive rockers The Mars Volta are calling it quits.

This isn't much of a surprise to fans of the band...the group formed as a spin-off of At The Drive-In, who recently got back together for some shows. Lead guitarist (for both bands) Omar Rodriguez-Lopez (pictured above) has recently stated that there are no plans for At The Drive-In to produce new music, but with the latest news, maybe that has changed.

Here is the Tweet from last night that made the break up public news

  • BREAKING NEWS: Three Days Grace has a new lead singer

    Posted by Lunchbox

Three Days Grace has announced that lead singer Adam Gontier has left the group because of a health issue.

The news was posted on their website, here: http://www.threedaysgrace.com/news/120901

As the news update says, the band has a new lead singer already...a voice you might know...My Darkest Days lead singer Matt Walst.

Maybe this has something to do with the news from the weekend of Sal Costa leaving My Darkest Days...

  • Pop singer Rhianna just Tweet'd a pic of her new tat

    Posted by Lunchbox

So former Pop Princess Rhianna has been know for catchy pop songs, and for her weird relationship with rapper/pop singer/woman beater Chris Brown.

But over the last year, Rhi Rhi has started to embrace the "bad girl" image. This new tattoo is just helping that image. Here's the picture that Rhianna tweeted today, what do you think?

Dads, how proud would you be if this was your daughter?

As we get ready to wrap up 2012, we're getting ready to drop your Top 20+12 (32 songs) of 2012.

This isn't our first time around with a Top 20+ countdown, last year we busted out the Top 20+11 of 2011, and I started thinking today "what was the top song of the year last year?"

I'm sure I wasn't the only one trying to remember the 2011 countdown, so I dug it up, HERE are your top songs of 2011 on Rock 94.7:

    27. Pop Evil - "Last Man Standing"
    28. Avenged Sevenfold - "Welcome to the Family"
    29. Foo Fighters - "Rope"
    30. Pop Evil - "Monster You Made"
    31. My Darkest Days - "Porn Star Dancing"
Yup, last year My Darkest Days grabbed the stop spot. They kicked the year off with "Porn Star Dancing" and generated a lot of requests, that turned into a lot of air-play. THEN Rock Fest announced their line-up, and My Darkest Days was included. Bringing their requests to a fever pitch. Its amazing how artists coming to the area effects the requests that we get, if you look over this list, you'll see a lot of artists that came to Rock Fest, the Wisconsin Valley Fair, or the general Central Wisconsin area in the past 5 years.
Make sure to check in for THIS year's countdown on New Years Eve and New Years Day!
  • Nirvana reunion tonight?

    Posted by Lunchbox

Sounds like Dave Grohl is getting the band back together! Tonight is the 12-12-12 Concert for Hurricane Sandy funds...and it's being rumored that Grohl will be joined on stage by Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear. Of course, without Kurt Cobain, its not complete, so they'll need to bring in a ringer for vocals...

Yeah, that guy...Sir Paul McCartney. Here's how the story goes according to ultimateclassicrock.com:

The story goes that McCartney recently played with Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear during a secret studio session that started when Grohl called the former Beatle to see if he’d be interested in stopping by to “jam with some mates.” McCartney’s quoted as saying, “I didn’t really know who they were. They are saying how good it is to be back together. I said ‘Whoa, you guys haven’t played together for all that time?’ And somebody whispered to me ‘That’s Nirvana. You’re Kurt.’ I couldn’t believe it.”

    This should be good!
