Metallica's August 24th concert in Vancouver, British Columbia will be filmed in 3D for the band's upcoming 3D film.

A message from the band said: "We couldn't think of a better place than Vancouver to end our three-week new stage run with cameras capturing it all, so bring your nuttiest, craziest Metalli-self to the show, be a part of movie history, and show the rest of the world how much Vancouver rocks. For those of you wondering what lies ahead, the emphasis here is on 'end of our three-week new stage run' as these are indeed the last dates that we are announcing for summer of 2012."

The 3-D movie will be a "marriage of narrative and concert" and will star the "five" members of Metallica — James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, Robert Trujillo, and the fans. It will start shooting this August and will drop in the summer of 2013.

 LA Guns frontman Phil Lewis has blasted Nikki Sixx's bestseller The Heroin Diaries as a "fraud," two years after former Motley Crue singer John Corabi made a similar suggestion about his ex-bandmate's book.

Lewis' outburst came in a forum tirade in which he slammed Crue's touring partners Def Leppard, accusing them of not working hard enough on stage. On the MetalSludge.tv boards the singer said: "I don't like arena rock. Motley Crue, with exploding drum kits and midgets, bore me to death. Poison is an embarrassment. Def Leppard going through the motions and mailing it in every night is pathetic."

After Sixx responded by calling Lewis a "sad li'l pumpkin" on Twitter, the Gunsman turned his anger on the bassist's 2007 book. Subtitled A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star, it documents the bassist's experiences in the band, in his love life and with his drug issues, leading up to his heroin overdose in 1987. more on this story

Sprint Cup champion Rusty Wallace heads the group of five picked Wednesday as NASCAR's newest Hall of Famers.

The others selected were Leonard Wood, Herb Thomas, Cotton Owens and Buck Baker.

Wallace, the 1989 series champion won 55 races.

Wood was a famed member of the Wood Brothers teams whose brother, Glen, was picked for the hall last year. Thomas was one of NASCAR's first superstar drivers, Owens a success as driver and owner, and Baker is 14th on the victory list with 46.

Tebowing is coming to the popular Madden football video game. 

The move made popular by Tim Tebow will be included in "Madden 13". 

It's not known whether there will be a Tebowing button, whether it will be a celebration, or whether the Jets quarterback will be the only one doing it.

Guns N' Roses hit Liverpool Sunday as part of their current European tour. A hobbling Axl Rose was still feeling the effects of an injury he suffered in Moscow a week earlier, when he reportedly hurt his leg falling off a table while dancing at the trendy club Premier Lounge after the second Moscow concert.

In Liverpool, Rose acknowledged his injuries at the end of the show, telling fans, "Thanks for coming out. You guys have been great. Thanks for putting up with my hobbling around. Be safe getting out of here."

As he as making his comments, Axl was walking backwards and waving to the crowd when he fell over some stairs at the side of the drum riser. See video here.

Stephen just released the sauce through High River Sauces in collaboration with Chris Santos from the Chef of the Food Network's highest rated Show "Chopped".

 On this day in 2010, Ronnie James Dio died from stomach cancer. The 67-year-old metal singer had fronted many bands, including Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath and Dio. Gibson looks back: Among the very last songs Ronnie James Dio ever recorded was "Metal Will Never Die," an ode to the fist-pumping power and glory that Dio, himself, personified. It's been just one short year since his untimely death, on this day in 2010, and those words echo as loudly today, if not louder, than when the diminutive metal god with the golden voice first delivered them. Dio's death, though not surprising to the legion of metal fans who knew he had been ill for quite some time, galvanized the heavy metal community in an unprecedented way.

Born Ronald James Padavona in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, in 1942, Dio's ascension from trumpet and French horn player, which were his first musical instruments, to heavy metal god is the story of perseverance, passion for rock 'n' roll and undeniable talent.

Dio's musical career began in 1957 with a band called The Vegas Kings, which later changed to Ronnie and the Rumblers, then Ronnie and the Redcaps, then in 1961, Ronnie Dio and the Prophets. In 1967, Dio and Prophets guitarist Nick Pantas formed the Electric Elves, which shortened its name two years later to Elf. The band's success eventually landed them an opening slot for Deep Purple, which exposed Dio's remarkable voice to Deep Purple's guitarist, Ritchie Blackmore, who later recruited Dio and other members of Elf for his new band Rainbow.

After three studio albums and a live album, Dio left Rainbow, and in 1979 he replaced Ozzy Osbourne in Black Sabbath. Dio's first album with Sabbath, the platinum-selling Heaven and Hell, was the shot in the arm Sabbath's flagging career needed. Next up was the album Mob Rules, followed by the live disc Live Evil. Disagreements during the mixing of Live Evil prompted Dio to leave the band and strike out on his own.

In 1982, Dio and former Black Sabbath drummer Vinny Appice formed Dio. They recruited 19-year old Irish sensation Vivian Campbell on guitar, as well as bassist Jimmy Bain. Dio's debut album, Holy Diver, remains of metal's landmark albums. Over the years and through numerous personnel changes – Dio would remain the only constant member of the band – the band released 10 albums. more on this story
