In Flames Featured in New Volvo Ad!

That's right.  In Flames in an ad for Volvo.

This actually makes plenty of sense.  Heavy Metal isn't exactly a new genre.  Metal fans come in all ages.  Many of them (like me) have families and are concerned about vehicle safety.  Volvo has a stellar reputation for safety.

Plus, Volvo is Swedish and out of Gothenburg no less, so you know there's more than a bit of metal in that company's DNA.

The best part of this spot is how they didn't actually show some stereotypical cartoon character metalhead in a denim and leather getup headbanging behind the wheel of his Volvo.  Metal fans don't all dress like they just got done touring with Metallica.

My point is, if you're a business owner who still thinks metal fans are a bunch of unemployed ne'er-do-well kids lacking in disposable income, you're about 30 to 40 years behind the curve.  I'm going to be in the market for a vehicle before terribly long.  Volvo's definitely upped its spot on my brands to check out list.
