Some Packer fans have their undies in a bunch after the Pro Bowl squads were named yesterday. Only three Packers were named to the NFC squad, while the Bears and Vikings had 4 players named. All of the players named probably deserve it although if anybody reading this knows whether Henry Melton of the Bears had a good or bad year I'll eat a bug. In games like baseball it's easy to see who should be an All-Star and who shouldnt. In a game like football it's much more difficult. As a fans you watch the ball...very rarely do you watch whats going on in the trenches unless an instant replay focuses on it. We have no idea whether a lineman is doing his job at a high level or is merely competent unless he's allowing his quarterback to be sacked numerous times every game. Aaron Rodgers deserves a starting spot on the NFC squad. Clay Mathews was injured for a big chunk of the season, but you can make the argument that he belongs. Jeff Saturday, who has recently lost his starting job, gets in on past reputation. Would you rather have a team filled with quality role players surrounding a few top players? I would. And a bigger point is...who really cares except the players who get paid a bonus for making the team? The game is meaningless...this is probably the last year it will be played...so outside of a teams fans arguing about whether some of their playes got screwed, it's much ado about nothing.
The Bucks looked good last night. They beat Brooklyn 108-93. Brandon Jennings had 25 and Monta Ellis had one of his good nights...20 points, seven assists, six rebounds and six steals. Of the next four games, three are at home starting Saturday night against the defending champs.
