MLB announced the suspensions stemming from the brawl in Sunday's Brewer-Pirate game. Martin Maldonado received 5 games for punching Travis Snider. He began serving the penalty last night. But the others who were punished are appealing their suspensions and that includes Carlos Gomez who says that a three game suspension isnt fair because he didnt start the brawl and didnt throw the first punch.Gomez implies in his statement that the video doesnt show everything that happened and says the umpires know what actually happened. Snider was suspended for two games and Russell Martin for one and they are both appealing as well. Gerrit Cole, the Pirate pitcher who started the whole mess was not suspended and that didnt sit well with Gomez or Brewer manager Ron Roenicke.
