PIERCE COUNTY, Wis. (WTAQ) - Flood warnings are in effect on the Mississippi and St. Croix rivers in Pierce County in far western Wisconsin. The National Weather Service says both rivers are expected to be about 8 inches above their flood stages by next Thursday – and it would be close to making the Stillwater Lift Bridge inoperable between Houlton Wisconsin and Stillwater Minnesota.

Meanwhile, the Fox River in Kenosha County is about a foot above its flood stage at New Munster. Officials say water was approaching some homes, but the river was expected to return below its flood stage by Saturday.
