PLYMOUTH, Wis. (WTAQ) - Federal funding was announced Thursday for a new training center in Sheboygan County for highly-skilled manufacturing workers. The city and school district of Plymouth and Lakeshore Technical College were awarded a $670,000 grant to establish the new training center at Plymouth High School. The idea came from roundtable discussions held by the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce. Those discussions identified the types of employee shortages expected by local manufacturers, and ways to address those shortages.
The new training center will have computer and manufacturing labs, modern classrooms, and training equipment for production lines. The facility is part of Plymouth High School’s STEM program – which stands for science, technology, engineering, and math.
