MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WTAQ) - A tip leads investigators to run a sting on a narcotics agent. Now, agent Johnny Santiago is accused of skimming thousands of dollars from drug seizures.
G.B. Jones, assistant special agent in charge of the Milwaukee FBI office, says it isn't known how much money Santiago may have taken. Jones says they were told about Santiago's actions, so they set up a sting to see if he would take the money. The FBI says he did. Jones says the case isn't over, but there is no indication other members of a joint drug task force were involved.
Santiago is a former Milwaukee police officer who became a state drug agent almost five years ago.
