WEST MICHIGAN (WKZO) - A Wisconsin man who ran an elaborate scam on a West Michigan Walmart Store has entered a guilty plea to felony charges.
Prosecutors say Jeffrey Lowery of Wisconsin would enter a Walmart and mark some merchandise on the shelf as if it had been purchased by a fire department or ambulance firm.
Then he would return in uniform, claim the items were being returned when his crew had to run to an emergency, and he was there to get the cash. It worked 20 times at Walmarts all over Michigan, for a total take of 45-hundred dollars. It was the 21st time that tripped him up.
He will be sentenced in December for impersonating a firefighter, felony larceny and being a habitual offender.
