OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) - The Oshkosh Corporation received a boost today to its sagging military vehicle business.

The US Army has ordered an additional 7,000 medium tactical trucks-and-trailers.

The new order is valued at just over $900 million.

The firm expects to deliver all the new vehicles by the middle of 2013.

The new order brings to 26,000 the amount of medical tactical vehicles being made by Oshkosh. Seventeen models are designed to support Army and National Guard soldiers in combat operations, relief efforts, and a number of other functions both here and overseas.

Last week, Oshkosh cited a decline in military business for a 68% drop in its net income from a year ago.
