GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - More heavy thunderstorms rumbled through Wisconsin this morning – and this time, the state’s mid-section got the most damage.

The National Weather Service said there was golf-ball-sized hail between Arcadia and Blair in Trempealeau County.

A road washed out in Jackson County, where a flash flood broke out near Taylor following a four-inch downpour.

In central Wisconsin, a large tree fell onto a house near Stevens Point. Plover had pea-sized hail and 70-mile-an-hour winds. Several campers flipped over just west of Appleton. And more power lines fell this morning from Tomah to Green Bay.

The Wisconsin Public Service utility had thousands more power outages to deal with this morning, after it almost restored power to the 35-thousand customers who lost it last night in north central Wisconsin. Just over 10-thousand were still without electricity as of noon.

Some of the last of the morning storms hit far northeast Wisconsin.

Parts of Marinette and Oconto counties were under a storm warning through noon.

Meanwhile, those who have to clean up the damage are doing it in extreme heat. The heat index had already hit 105 by 11 this morning at Osceola in far northwest Wisconsin – and the actual temperature there was 90.

Most parts of the state were still in the 70’s-and-80’s by mid-day – with hotter readings promised this afternoon.
