WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) Wausau city leaders will meet with residents along Thomas Street on Wednesday to discuss the controversial road project. The city was told earlier this year that it's ineligible for additional federal money for the project because proper procedures weren't followed.
The Wausau Daily Herald reports the city didn't tell landowners that they were entitled to appeal the purchase price for their land for the road-widening project. The city also didn't offer help for residents to relocate - which is a federal requirement.
Other residents who live along Thomas Street say they are in limbo - not knowing if the road will be widened or not. City officials say they're working with the Feds to correct earlier problems.
The meeting on the Thomas Street project is on Wednesday night at 6pm at Wausau City Hall.
