MADISON, WI (WSAU) - Another person is facing charges in the Manson Insurance scandal.
Charges were filed in U.S. District Court Friday, accusing 67-year-old Jeffrey Tiffany of Mosinee with making a false statement to a financial institution. The former Senior Vice President of River Valley Bank was responsible for handling the insurance premium financing notes through the bank for Manson Insurance.
The Attorney General’s office alleges Tiffany drafted an insurance premium financing note, knowing it was not a legitimate note and it had not been signed by a representative of the company that issued the note, The Hardwoods Corporation.
If convicted, Tiffany faces a maximum penalty of 30 years in federal prison and a $1 million fine. The Attorney General’s Office and the FBI have been investigating the case.
