BEAVER DAM, WI (WTAQ) - Federal prosecutors said Michael J. Scott robbed 10 banks over a two-and-a-half month period.
Scott admitted the crimes last September and was sentenced to 5 years in prison Friday.
Federal prosecutors had argued for a longer sentence due to the nature of the crimes committed by the 37 year old man from Beaver Dam and the trauma suffered by the bank tellers who were robbed.
However, citing concerns about prison overcrowding, U.S. District Judge J.P. Stadtmueller gave Scott a sentence at the lower end of the sentencing guideline range.
Scott got away with $28,000 in the hold-ups in Fond du Lac, West Bend, Kenosha, Richfield, Hartford, Westfield, Oconomowoc, Delafield and Germantown.
