CAMPBELLSPORT, WI (WTAQ) - It’s a rough day for the 500 students at Campbellsport High School, as students try to deal with the deaths of three girls, and injuries to six others in a weekend SUV crash. Principal Kristen Langer said the mood was somber this morning, as students talked about the mishap – and some tried to focus on their class work. Counselors were on hand at the school for a second straight day – and the teachers were told to let students leave class if they need to talk about the matter. By mid-morning, Superintendent Dan Olson said things were going as well as expected. Authorities said the nine girls – all members of the Campbellsport varsity and junior varsity soccer teams – were in a speeding van that lost control at the bottom of a hill, and it veered into a ditch and overturned. 15-year-old Sabrina Stahl, 16-year-old Katie Berg, and 17-year-old Caitlin Scannell were killed. Five others remained hospitalized at mid-morning – and a 17-year-old girl had left Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee.
