For months now, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has been hard at work making a new documentary about Sound City Studios, where he and Nirvana recorded the band's 1991 iconic album Nevermind and Rage Against the Machine recorded their 1992 self-titled debut. After collaborating with members of Ratt , Slipknot , Queens of the Stone Age and Cheap Trick , Grohl has now tapped Rick Springfield to write and record a song for the project.
“[The new song is] for a documentary that [Grohl’s] doing about the studio that I did 'Jessie’s Girl' in and Nirvana did Nevermind in,” Springfield recently told The Tennessean . “It came out great. We might start doing it live.”
