STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) Tyler Tillema of U-W Stevens Point and Sally Linzmeier of Superior are the W-I-A-C men's-and-women's basketball players of the week. Tillema, a junior guard, scored a career-high 31 points in a win over Eau Claire in which he went 12-for-12 from the free-throw line.
Linzmeier, a freshman guard, scored 16 points against Oshkosh and 14 against Platteville, to help Superior win a school-record five straight games.
The W-I-A-C also recognized George Malliaras of River Falls in men's hockey -- Bebeto Yewah of La Crosse in wrestling -- and Mary Kate Young and Katie Thompson, both of Whitewater, in gymnastics.
