WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) – A LaCrosse man under investigation for a car crash that killed a Loyal woman has been charged with two misdemeanor drug charges.

Tyler Deal is charged with possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A Marathon County judge released him on a $2,500 signature bond. The 21-year-old cannot drive a car and must avoid contact with the victim’s parents. He also can’t drink alcohol or use controlled substances.

Prosecutors say they haven’t made a decision yet about when they will charge Deal with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle for the death of Paige Delo.

Investigators say Deal lost control and crashed into a utility pole in Spencer on February 26th. Delo died at the scene.
