Kyuss Lives! has changed their name. The band, which is comprised of ex- Kyuss band mates Brant Bjork , John Garcia , Nick Oliveri and guitarist Bruno Fevery , will now be known as Vista Chino , Antiquiet.com is reporting.
The name change was prompted by a recent federal lawsuit filed by former Kyuss frontman Josh Homme and bassist Scott Reeder against Garcia and Bjork, who alleged that Kyuss Lives! was engaging in trademark infringement and consumer fraud. According to Blabbermouth.net , a federal judge ruled back in August that the band is prohibited from using the Kyuss Lives! name "in conjunction with any studio album, live album, or other audio recording" and recommended that it was in the band's "best interest to begin re-branding under a new name."
Vista Chino is in the studio recording new material for their debut album, which is expected to be released sometime in 2013.
