STEVENS POINT, Wis (WSAU) Stevens Point will offer a series of incentives to try to lure the Medical College of Wisconsin to open a satellite campus in the city.
The Medical College announced expansion plans in June. They'll open satellite campuses in Green Bay and in a to-be-determined location in Central Wisconsin.
Stevens Point will offer the old Mid-State Technical College campus as a possible location. Those buildings will be vacant once MSTC moves to its new location at the old CenterPoint Marketplace Mall property.
The old building would still be shared with the Boys and Girls Club. The city is dropping plans relocate city hall to the campus.
The city is initially offering 8,000 square feet to the medical college. That could be expanded if more space is needed.
The medical college also has proposals from Marshfield and Wausau. The college board meets on September 28th to discuss the offers.
