UNDATED (WSAU) - Weather is making travel difficult overnight. Central Wisconsin roads were ice covered and hazardous while further north, the roads are covered in fresh, heavy snow.
In Portage County, ice caused a power line to come down on the eastbound lanes of Highway 10 at Deer Road in Custer. The lines forced officials to close an already slow-moving highway from 10:30 until 11:15 p.m.
Around Wausau, one county highway truck is working on the I-39 and Highway 29 interchanges until the full road crew joins in around 4:00 a.m. Authorities are advising everyone to stay off the roads Thursday night into Friday morning unless absolutely necessary.
Should WSAU receive any cancellations or postponements due to the weather and road conditions, you will find them here on WSAU.COM. Click on the red "Weather" tab and look in the upper right corner of the home page.
