MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) The Marquette men’s basketball team has lost its third player this month. Starting sophomore forward Juan Anderson was granted his release yesterday, saying he wanted to find a school that’s closer to his home in Oakland California.
Anderson averaged about three points and three rebounds in 13 minutes per game this past season. He became a starter in mid-November after Jamil Wilson struggled. But as the campaign went on, Wilson replaced Anderson early and became a key player for Marquette off the bench.
Anderson said he enjoyed his time in Milwaukee, and coach Buzz Williams said he’s grateful for what Anderson contributed.
Last week, Marquette said that freshman forward Jamal Ferguson left to be closer to his family in Virginia. Junior Jake Thomas also said this month that he would leave the Golden Eagles.
