UPDATE: Teens sentenced to life in prison for killing great grandmother

SHEBOYGAN, WI (WTAQ) - The second of two Sheboygan teens convicted of killing a 78-year-old woman will spend more than 30-years behind bars before being eligible for parole.

14-year-old Nathan Paape was sentenced Tuesday morning and will be eligible for parole in 2043.

Paape along with 14-year-old Antonio Barbeau, the victim’s great grandson, killed Barbara Olson last September.

They went to her Sheboygan Falls home with the intent to rob her and bludgeoned her to death with a hammer and hatchet.

Barbeau was sentenced Monday to life in prison, with parole eligibility at age 50.

Both boys were 13 years-old at the time of the murder and state law requires an eligibility date for parole.

The judge felt that Paape was more of a follower in the crime.

At trial, Paape testified that he struck Olson once out of fear of what Barbeau would do to him if he didn’t participate.
