MADISON, WI (LEARFIELD-WSAU) Wisconsin men’s basketball guard Josh Gasser (gah’-ser) will play for the first time in almost a year on Wednesday, when the Badgers begin a five-game exhibition tour in Canada. T
he Badgers practiced yesterday. Coach Bo Ryan said Gasser will try to play 8-to-12 minutes a game, after he missed all of last season with two torn ligaments and a torn meniscus in his left knee.
Gasser, who’s now a redshirt junior, was expected to be the starting point guard for Wisconsin last season. Traevon Jackson and George Marshall shared that role. Gasser was ahead of schedule in his rehab. He was not planning to take part in full-contact work until October.
The Badgers will open their Canadian tour on Wednesday in Ottawa.
