WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) -- An arrest warrant has been issued for a Merrill man accused of committing inappropriate acts with a 14-year-old boy. 31-year-old Michael D. Baumann is facing charges of possessing child pornography and exposing a child’s genitals.
Court records show Baumann’s cell phone had pictures of a teenaged boy, and one of those pictures was of the boy’s genitals while that boy was passed out from alcohol Baumann allegedly supplied him. Text messages on the phone also recorded Baumann’s purchase of cigars, cigarettes, food, and alcohol for the boys.
The Wausau Daily Herald reports Baumann is also charged with selling alcohol to a minor and with contributing to truancy for taking three teenagers from a high school field trip to an Aniwa park.
The photos were discovered by officers when they checked his phone while Baumann was at the Marathon County Jail on a probation hold. Baumann was on probation after a Lincoln County theft conviction.
