Packers playoff tickets still available , TV blackout possible

UPDATE: As of New Years Day afternoon, about 7,500 tickets were remaining.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WSAU-Wheeler News Service) -- As of Tuesday evening, 11,000  tickets remain available for the Green Bay Packer’s wild card playoff game against San Francisco late Sunday afternoon at Lambeau Field. That puts the game in danger of being blacked out in local TV markets under NFL regulations.

The last time a Green Bay game was blacked out was in 1983 when viewers in the Green Bay and Wausau television markets could not carry the broadcast.

Green Bay's Wild Card playoff game against the 49'ers is set for late Sunday afternoon at Lambeau Field.

Season ticket holders had two chances to buy them -- late this fall while the Pack was going winless without Aaron Rodgers -- and Monday for five hours. After that, Ticketmaster put them on sale to the general public.

That's giving the non-season ticket holder a rare chance to buy a Lambeau playoff game at face value. The price ranges from $102 to $125, plus fees.

A dry day is forecast for Sunday with highs in the teens -- warmer than the Packers' December 8th game against Atlanta, when it was snowing and 9-above with a wind chill of one-below.

As far as the Packers not having a chance -- well, the Las Vegas oddsmakers are not saying that. The 49'ers are the favorite, but only by two-and-a-half to three points.

The Packers have won three of their last four. Still, they entered the postseason as the North Division champions, with the worst record of all the NFC playoff teams at 8-7-1.

San Francisco has won six straight, with a record of 12-4. The Niners are 3-0 against Green Bay, dating back to the start of last season.
