MERRILL, WI (WSAU) -  Passing snowplows can be dangerous. A truck driver from Iowa found out firsthand Wednesday south of Merrill.

A Lincoln County plow truck was southbound on highway 51 working in the right lane when the truck driver attempted to pass him. The truck got too close to the plow’s driver side wing blade. The plow cut through the cab and sleeper of the truck’s passenger side.

The semi tractor has significant damage. The plow truck was not damaged.

Lincoln County deputies remind us to give plows a lot of space.
