Metallica may be from Los Angeles, but they plan on supporting the San Francisco Giants during their first home game of the upcoming baseball season.

The band has just announced that they will be on hand to celebrate the first-ever Metallica Night at AT&T Park in San Francisco, California on May 3.  Frontman James Hetfield and the guys will sing the national anthem at the start of the game, and will also throw out the first pitch.

Tickets for the event will go on sale on Saturday at 8 a.m. PT.  In addition, everyone who picks up a ticket will receive  a collector's-edition Metallica Giants hat.
