WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) - The concept of Wausau hiring a city administrator was a hot topic during last spring’s elections, and again last night. Human Resources Director Michael Loy brought the topic to the council, pointing out other cities that have an administrator like Wauwatosa and Sheboygan.
Alderman Dave Oberbeck was one of the Human Resources Committee members that questioned what needs fixing. Loy wants to hear from other communities now using an administrator to hear what is good and bad about it. He believes a Mayor and an administrator are both full time jobs.
No city council members showed support for hiring an administrator during the Monday night meeting. Alderman Romey Wagner wants the city to study the option.
