WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) - Central Wisconsin's finest student actors take the stage tonight in the musical classic Les Miserables.
The Central Wisconsin Educational Theatre Alliance celebrates its 20th anniversary with a reprisal of their first musical production tonight at the DC Everest Senior High School. Originally known as the Shakespeare Project, CWETA brings in talent from high schools across the area to perform high level productions every two years.
Project Coordinator Laurie Maegli says past performances by CWETA have proven their quality. "We try to do professional quality theatre, and we have a reputation for delivering." Nine schools take part in the production, with new schools Marathon and Mosinee added. The program was created in 1992 in order to help local high schools to meld top theatrical student talent so large productions could be performed.
Doors open tonight at the DC Everest Senior High School at 7 pm. Tickets are 15 dollars for adults and 10 dollars for Students and Seniors.
