ROTHSCHILD, Wis (WSAU) A 4-year-old was rescued from a near-drowning incident Sunday at the Rothschild-SchofieldAquaticCenter. Two lifeguards got the young boy out of the pool and began performing CPR. After several rounds of chest compressions the child began coughing up water and started breathing again.
First responders rushed the child to Wausau-AprirusHospital, where he's expected to make a full recovery.
The child's name hasn't been released. The two lifeguards - both college students - say it was the first time they'd performed CPR outside of their regular training.
