Slipknot's Joey Jordison Side Project Scar the Martyr to Release Self-Titled Album in October

Joey Jordison has revealed more details about his new side project, Scar the Martyr . The Slipknot drummer has announced that the group will release their self-titled debut album on October 1.

The new group's lineup features a number of veterans of the heavy metal scene, including Strapping Young Lad multi-instrumentalist Jed Simon , former Darkest Hour guitarist Kris Norris , former In This Moment bassist Kyle Konkiel and keyboardist Joey Blush . In addition, the group will be fronted by newcomer Henry Derek , who co-wrote the new material with Jordison.

Scar the Martyr will support Danzig on their upcoming 25th anniversary tour, which kicks off August 9 at Sound Academy in Toronto, ON. That outing will also features sets by former Misfits guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein and Huntress .
