Kings of Leon have revealed the name and release date for their sixth studio album. Mechanical Bull is set to arrive at all the usual outlets on September 24, reports Billboard .

Bassist Jared Followill had previously stated that the new tracks will sound similar to their earlier work. "I thought we were going to make a really mature album but I'm amazed how youthful it sounds,” he told NME . “It's like a mix of [our 2003 debut album] Youth and Young Manhood and [2007’s] Because of the Times ."

While their headlining performance at New York's Governors Ball Festival was canceled on Friday due to severe weather conditions, the band took the stage on Saturday and debuted Mechanical Bull ’s first single, “Super Soaker,” during their rescheduled set. Fan-filmed footage of the performance can be seen on YouTube. Billboard reports that “Super Soaker” will be released sometime around mid-July.
