GRAND CHUTE, WI (LEARFIELD-WSAU) Four Wisconsin high school baseball champions will be crowned today, as the state spring tournament wraps up at Fox Cities’ Stadium near Appleton. Eight teams advanced to the four divisional title games after winning yesterday’s semi-finals.
The Division-Four final is up first at nine this morning, as Greenwood takes on Lake Country Lutheran.
The Division-Three championship begins at noon, with Oconto taking on Westby.
The Division-Two title contest begins at three p-m, as Green Bay Notre Dame plays Lodi.
The Division-One final is tonight at six. Defending champion Sun Prairie goes for back-to-back crowns against Stevens Point. Notre Dame scored three times in the fifth inning to win its Division-Two semi-final over Ellsworth last night, 4-to-1. Alex Brault had an R-B-I triple in that rally, and then scored on a wild pitch. Lodi won the other D-Two semi-final, 6-to-1 over Waupun. Matt Byars went 2-for-3 with a pair of R-B-I’s for Lodi. In Division-Three, Oconto needed eight innings to get by Osseo-Fairchild 4-to-3. Bryce Bostedt drove home the game-winner as he reached base on an outfield error. In the other D-Three semi, Westby edged Deerfield 2-to-1 on a sacrifice fly by Nick Neely in the fifth inning.
