Evers comments on JFC budget, SSIS change

MADISON, WI (WSAU) -  Wisconsin’s State Superintendent commented Monday on several budget items related to education. One of them was the Joint Finance Committee’s decision to strip funding from the single-vendor student information system that would have given Infinite Campus the contract to place it’s software in every Wisconsin school.

Evers is hasn’t read the Joint Finance Committee’s language, but he’s hopeful to have something that works.  He still believes having a single vender would be the better way to go, but understands that's not the direction we're going and says, "I'm a realist, also."

The Superintendent says however this turns out, he wants a transparent system that provides the necessary features and data.

The Joint Finance Committee vote will allow Stevens Point based Skyward to continue serving its Wisconsin clients. They already serve about half of the state’s school districts.
