On Tuesday, Sublime released Three Ring Circus: Live at the Palace -- October 21, 1995 , a live CD/DVD set that features a classic performance by the band’s original lineup, which includes late frontman Bradley Nowell . Drummer Bud Gaugh says he feels that the group’s 1995 performance at the Palace captures a special moment of the group’s history.

“This is a great representation of what we sounded like then, what Brad sounded like,” Gaugh tells ABC News Radio. “We were touring for the [1994] Robbin’ the Hood album and getting ready to go in and record for the self-titled album so we had just a whole bunch of energy being on the road playing shows every night.”

The drummer adds that fans can look forward to getting their hands on more live albums and DVDs from Sublime in the near future. “We just recently came across a vault of video footage so now we’re just sifting through it,” he reveals. “There was good shows and bad shows, there was good shows with bad recordings and bad shows with good recordings, so it’s just a matter of going through all the stuff and finding that gem.”

While Gaugh is still making music with a number of bands, including Del Mar and Phil 'n the Blanks , the drummer says he doesn’t regret leaving Sublime with Rome , the latest incarnation of the group featuring bassist Eric Wilson and singer Rome Ramirez , in 2011. “I was unhappy where the direction of the band was going,” he notes. “I didn’t agree with management and their vision and the guys chose to stick with management instead of me. Their decision, not mine.”
