Andrew WK has been chosen by Black Sabbath to be the opening act for the heavy metal legends’ upcoming tour -- but he won’t be singing. The notoriously hard-partying singer has revealed that instead of rocking the mic, he’ll be performing a special DJ set each night of the veteran band's North American run.
"This is the greatest honor I could be given,” says the singer in a statement. “I remember when the phone rang and I first heard that Black Sabbath wanted me to be their exclusive opening act. I was really in a state of disbelief -- almost sick with amazement and excitement.”
Sabbath’s North American tour kicks off on July 25 at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Woodlands, Texas. Visit BlackSabbath.com to view the full itinerary.
