UNDATED (WSAU) - Warmer temperatures mean the end of the frozen road excess weight privileges for trucks. Over the next few days, several area highways will begin using smaller weight limits until the frost is gone.
The Village of Weston limits begin just after midnight.
The Frozen Road Declaration for Class II highways ended Tuesday for most areas of the state. Only Zone 1 north of US 8 remains open for excess weight. DOT officials expect Zone 1 may also close in about a week.
Some state highways are getting even lower weight limits until the frost is gone. Portions of highway 54 and 173 near Nekoosa and Port Edwards will have additional restrictions starting Monday.
You may contact the Village of Weston at (715) 359-6114 with questions, comments, or concerns about roads in their village limits.
