MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - One of Wisconsin’s largest industrial firms is losing its CEO.

Joy Global of Milwaukee said Thursday that Michael Sutherlin will step down at the end of the year – and he’ll be replaced by another company executive, Edward Doheny II.

The 66-year-old Sutherlin will turn over the reins in December, before retiring on February 1st of next year.

Joy Global makes coal mining equipment.

The incoming CEO is 50. Doheny has been the president of Joy Global’s underground mining equipment division for the last 7 years.

Sutherlin has headed the company for about the same length of time. He says now is the time to, “spend long overdue time with my family, and to work on some neglected hobbies.”

Joy Global also said it would name Randal Baker to a newly-created post of chief operating officer. He current heads the firm’s surface mining division.
