MADISON, WI (LEARFIELD-WSAU)Defensive end Billy Hirschfeld of Hartland Arrowhead High School says he’ll play his college football at Wisconsin in the fall of 2014. Hirschfield gave his verbal commitment to the Badgers yesterday.
He’ll be a senior at Arrowhead this fall, and was also given scholarship offers by Nebraska and Michigan State. Hirschfeld said he was uncomfortable considering the Badgers after former coach Bret Bielema left for Arkansas. Eventually, Hirschfeld said he became impressed with the energy and coaching quality of Gary Andersen and his staff.
Hirschfeld is the fifth known commitment to the Badgers for 2014. The other five recruits are also from Wisconsin.
