MILWAUKEE, WI (LEARFIELD-WSAU) Brewers’ reliever Tom Gorzelanny is close to returning, after a bout with tendinitis in his left throwing shoulder. He threw a simulated inning yesterday and said he felt good afterward.
Barring any last-minute problems, Gorzelanny is expected to come off the 15-day disabled list on Friday. He’s 1-and-0 with the Crew this season with a two-point-three-oh E-R-A in 18 appearances cover 15-and-two-thirds innings. Gorzelanny has only given 89-hundredths walks and hits per inning pitched.
Meanwhile, starter Chris Narveson is closer to returning from a sprained middle finger on his left throwing hand. Narveson has been out since April eighth. He completed a bullpen session yesterday, and he’s scheduled to pitch a simulated inning on Friday. If all goes well, Narveson could get a minor league rehab assignment next week.
