ROTHSCHILD, WI (WSAU) -  A week ago, we told you about this year’s first peregrine falcon chick hatching in a nest high above the Weston Three power plant in Rothschild. Since then, the other three eggs have successfully hatched, and the four babies have been named by school children.

Kelly Zagzebski from Wisconsin Public Service says they had nearly 60 entries for this year’s names from classrooms and individual children.

The children with the winning names were 6-year-old Rose Wolfgram, 3-year-old Logan Johnson, 5-year-old Riley Wendland, and 1-year-old Victoria Rossi with some help from family members. The chicks were named Skydancer, P.J., Lacey, and Snow.

The peregrine falcon chicks will have identification bands attached during a ceremony early next month with the children who submitted the names.

Photos of the baby birds are available at the WPS website.
