MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WSAU) -- An anonymous donor has put a fundraising effort past their goal. That goal was to raise $50,000 to build a special outdoor-themed pediatric family waiting area at Marshfield Clinic called Treyden’s Cabin. The project was started by Cassie and Travis Kurtzweil after losing their son Treyden to a rare form of leukemia this past June.
Family and friends of Treyden Kurtzweil along with volunteers and donors from several communities had raised $32,800 of their $50,000 goal by Friday afternoon. WAOW Television reports Marshfield Clinic received a phone call from an individual that is pitching in the remaining $17,200. Because of that generous donation, Treyden’s Cabin will be completed by next spring.
The Saving Treyden Facebook page has been promoting the project, and the Kurtzweil family thanks everyone for their support. The website is also helping raise awareness about other children suffering diseases in the area.
