RIB MOUNTAIN, Wis. (WSAU) -- A very busy section of Highway 51 southbound will have lanes closed starting Tuesday.
Department of Transportation officials say weather permitting, two southbound lanes will be closed to traffic between Sherman Street and Marathon County Highway NN so that workers can take pavement core samples. This is right where Highway 29 east merges with 51 south, and could get congested at peak travel times.
Travel will be reduced to 55 miles per hour in the work zone until the job is done.
If Tuesday’s weather is unfavorable, workers will try and begin the job Wednesday, November 13th.
