ANTIGO, Wis (WSAU) The man at the center of an Antigo drug ring will be in Langlade County court today. Court records indicate 35-year-old John Hunter reached a plea deal on charges of distributing marijuana and cocaine. The terms of the plea won't be known until his court appearance.
Some of hunter's clients had ties to the Antigo and Merrill school districts. The case led to the resignation of football coach and elementary school principal John Lund. More than a dozen others face charges. Most have reached plea-bargains.
Hunter would meet most of his clients at a golf course near Bass Lake. Prosecutors say he also distributed drugs in Wausau and Antigo.
He also faces federal drug charges. Last week he was indicted by a federal grand jury. He'll be araigned on those charges on December 11, and could face up to 40 years in prison.
