Ministry frontman Al Jourgensen has partnered with artist Sam Shearon to produce a series of comic books based on the group’s entire catalog.

Titled Ministry: The Devil's Chord -- The Chronicles of Alien F. Jourgensen , the 13-issue run will follow the adventures of Alien F. Jourgensen, a young musician who discovers he has super powers. "I've been wanting to step away from music for a bit, switch gears...then I met Sam and then POOF!,” the singer says in a statement. “Sam turns me into a super hero. I'll sign up for that!"

Each issue will profile themes from a different Ministry album, and will focus on Jourgensen’s battle against aliens, the occult, corrupt governments and record labels. Jourgensen hints the series may also feature some cameos from some of Jourgensen’s late friends -- novelist William S. Burroughs and 60s icon Timothy Leary -- as well as some of the biggest names in rock.

"I'd love to have people like [ Nine Inch Nails frontman] Trent Reznor [and ZZ Top singer/guitarist] Billy Gibbons …[to] be characters in the series," he notes. "I mean, who doesn't want to be a superhero?"

While Ministry: The Devil's Chord -- The Chronicles of Alien F. Jourgensen doesn’t yet have a firm release date, it's scheduled to be unveiled at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2014.
