MADISON, Wis. (WSAU) - Former Representative Scott Suder’s new job is now his old job. The former Assembly Majority Leader resigned in August to become the Public Service Commission’s administrator in the water division. Just over a month later, Suder has resigned the state position to accept an offer from the Wisconsin Paper Council as their Vice President of Government Relations.
Right after leaving the Legislature, Suder was under fire for allegedly helping direct a $250,000 hunting education grant to a political action group with little ties to conservation and without the proper non-profit status.
Representative Jeff Stone of Greendale will resign from his Assembly seat on Oct. 14th to take the Public Service Commission water division duties. Scott Suder starts his new job with Wisconsin Paper Council Monday.
Julie Lund is the Deputy Communications Director for Governor Scott Walker. She says, “During Scott Suder’s initial discussions with PSC, he mentioned this other opportunity may present itself, and it did. We wish him well in his new position in the private sector.”
