MERRILL, Wis. (WSAU) - A Merrill man was arrested Sunday morning after a crash on highway 17. The crash happened at 2:11 a.m. Lincoln County deputies discovered the vehicle was southbound at a very high rate of speed when the driver lost control, slid sideways, and flipped at least twice.
The driver had left the scene but did return. Authorities found the driver was at more than twice the legal limit to drive. They also cited him for expired registration, driving too fast for conditions, and inattentive driving.
Due to department policy, the man’s name was not released. He did sober up and was released on bond later Sunday.
