GREEN BAY, WI (LEARFIELD-WSAU) Brad Jones will join fellow Packers' linebacker Clay Matthews on the sideline Sunday, when Green Bay plays the Ravens in Baltimore. Coach Mike McCarthy said today that Jones will not be ready to return for the game against the defending Super Bowl champions.
McCarthy said Matthews would be out for "multiple" weeks amid reports he'd be out for a month with the thumb he broke last Sunday against Detroit. The coach said Matthews would play this week if he could make the decision -- and when he does return, he'll most likely wear a protective cast.
Running back James Starks is also being ruled out for the Ravens' game with a bad knee. Offensive lineman Greg Van Roten is still out with a foot injury. Also today, linebacker Andy Mulumba did not practice. McCarthy said Mulumba had some swelling from an ankle injury against the Lions.
The coach also said corner Casey Hayward is getting better, after returning to practice a week ago following a nasty hamstring injury. His chances of making his season debut against the Ravens could be determined tomorrow.
