MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WSAU) - One of the four celebrations of Mid-State Technical College’s centennial is coming up next week. The Marshfield campus will have festivities Tuesday, October 22nd from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

MSTC President Sue Budjac says the celebration started last Thursday in Wisconsin Rapids. She says the Marshfield celebration, like the Wisconsin Rapids event, will showcase their programs and give people a chance to learn about MSTC past and present. “We had over 500 K-12 high school students on our campus. Our faculty and our employees came out in mass to showcase the programs we have, and they created some knock-your-socks-off experiences with hands-on activities.”

The College President says Mid-State Technical College has grown from a single site to four campuses, and the number of students has changed dramatically. “When we talked about our centennial, probably about 1916, we had about 200 graduates from our college. Now, we’ve got about 9,000 students that take at least one course from Mid-State Technical College.”

Celebrations are also planned for Adams and Stevens Point. The Stevens Point celebration is being delayed until the new facility at the former Centerpoint Mall location opens next spring.

Over 100 certificates are available at the campus locations, including ten programs unique to Mid-State Technical College.

The college has more about their history and available programs online, here.
